About

Nestled in the foothills of Dunlap about 45 minutes east of Fresno, this private archery club operates on 38 acres of scenic oak-studded property at an elevation of 1,800 feet. The facility features 60 separate target butts with shooting distances ranging from 2 to 101 yards, accommodating both field and novelty shoots. The range also includes 3-D targets and 60 broadhead pits for skill development. Membership is required to access the range, with individual memberships available at $55 per year and family memberships at $95 annually. Members enjoy 24/7 gate access and can take advantage of the full clubhouse with kitchen, fireplace, heater, restrooms with hot showers, and an indoor shooting block. The club maintains a 5-star NFAA rating and boasts excellent facilities for overnight stays, including camping space and RV hookups for members.

The organization has been hosting archery events since its reorganization in 1956 and has become known for two major annual public competitions: the Fresno Safari, one of the nation's longest-running outdoor archery tournaments that attracts world-class competitors, and the Gene Foster Traditional Rendezvous, which draws traditional archers and craftspeople from across the state. While primarily a private club, these two yearly public events are open to competitors. To become a member, prospective archers must attend a monthly club shoot to learn range rules and then be voted in by the membership at a club meeting.
