Yahi Bowmen Archery Range

Yahi Bowmen operates a public archery facility maintained by the Yahi Bowmen Archery Club, a nonprofit organization established in 1954 with affiliations to the National Field Archery Association and California Bow Hunters. Located in Waterford near Modesto Reservoir, the range welcomes archers of all skill levels and offers a scenic shooting experience alongside natural beauty, with visitors noting the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular wildflower displays during spring months.

The facility features a concrete shooting line positioned at ground level and includes targets set at ten-yard increments ranging from twenty to one hundred yards. There is also an expanded youth range constructed with hay bales measuring thirty-two feet wide, plus twenty-eight targets positioned along a walkable course that visitors praise for its thoughtful layout and scenic route near the lake. The range is open daily from sunrise to sunset and operates with a strong emphasis on family participation, welcoming shooters from ages three and up.

Yahi Bowmen hosts regular competitive events throughout the year, including the Spring Fling, Bill Sullivan Traditional Shoot, and Fall Fling tournaments, and conducts monthly meetings along with weekly public shoots during summer months. An annual membership costs seventy-five dollars per family and includes discounted access to nearby Modesto Reservoir and affiliated parks.
