About

Northwestern Connecticut Sportsmen's Association operates a comprehensive archery facility in Colebrook as part of its 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to hunting and shooting sports. The archery program features multiple ranges to accommodate different skill levels and interests. The practice range is located adjacent to the main clubhouse and includes box targets set at 20, 30, 40, and 50-yard distances, along with an elevated tower for simulated tree stand shots. A separate 3D practice range operates at Flagg Hill Field, where leagues and most clinics are held. The organization also maintains a 3D course at Flagg Hill Field that features a one-mile walk-through with varying elevations and target challenges, complete with a rest station offering water and seating between targets. The facility emphasizes archery as a safe, lifelong sport suitable for young and old alike, with the National Safety Council rating archery as more accident-free than popular ball sports including tennis and golf. The NWCSA promotes archery instruction and competitive leagues while prioritizing safety and responsible stewardship of the property, which spans over 300 acres of club-owned land with an additional 100 acres available for members' use.
