Tampa Archery School

Tampa Archery School is a USA Archery, NFAA and ASA-certified program located at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays in Land O' Lakes, offering group archery lessons for youth ages seven and up, as well as teens and adults. The school holds classes on Saturday mornings from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM on an outdoor range equipped with two courses. The Stationary Course features shooting stations ranging from 10 to 50 yards and accommodates all bow types including crossbows with field points, while the ASA-certified 3D Course in the woods includes 15 stations with life-size animal targets representing various game species.

Instruction covers multiple archery styles including barebow and traditional bows, Olympic recurve, compound bows, and crossbows. The school's experienced instructors focus on developing proper shooting technique and, as students advance, teach bow tuning, competitive scoring, training plan development, and advanced techniques. Class fees are $20 per session or $70 per month for lessons with equipment rental, and $10 per session or $40 per month for students with their own gear. Rental equipment is available for beginners, making it easy for newcomers to get started without owning their own bow. The school does not require advance reservations for regular classes unless attending as a group of more than five people. Private group lessons are also available for groups of seven or more. Visitors say the instructors are patient and welcoming, creating a positive atmosphere for archers of all experience levels, and note that the coaches are knowledgeable and supportive of both beginners and advancing students.
