Atlanta Archery Club, located in Dunwoody at 4805 Tilly Mill Road, operates a beautiful 28-lane outdoor archery facility with a 16-lane indoor range available from November through February. The club is founded and led by Coach Yale, a USA Archery NTS Level 4 Coach with over 40 years of archery experience and nine years of teaching. The facility can accommodate shooting distances up to 70 meters on the outdoor range and serves approximately 200 active members across all age levels.
The club offers comprehensive archery instruction through trial programs, learning memberships, and open range memberships for both beginners and experienced archers. Trial programs include single group classes and multi-week introductory courses, while learning memberships are organized by age group, including Little Lions for ages 8-12, JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) for ages 12-18, and adult programs for those 18 and older. Membership levels range from recreational to competitive, with monthly costs varying based on access frequency and whether members use club equipment or their own gear. USA Archery membership is required for all AAC membership tiers. Club equipment available for use includes Genesis training bows, traditional recurve bows, Olympic-style recurve bows, longbows, and compound bows. The club also sells arrows and provides equipment setup and tuning services, helping archers determine what equipment will work best for their needs.
Atlanta Archery Club emphasizes instruction grounded in archery fundamentals, philosophy, and technique refinement within what the club describes as a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment. The coaching team includes multiple certified instructors, and the club maintains Safe Sport compliance with USA Archery's Safe Sport initiative.
