Davenport Valley Archers Outdoor Range

Located just west of Long Grove, Iowa, Davenport Valley Archers operates an outdoor facility situated on over 30 wooded acres that serves as a hub for competitive and recreational archery. The outdoor range features a 3D course, a 14-target field course, and a practice area accommodating shots up to 80 yards. The club, established in 1966, is affiliated with the National Field Archery Association and Iowa State Archery Association and hosts monthly 3D shoots from May through September, with the August Hog Shoot serving as a two-day event complete with novelty competitions and a hog roast. Field shoots are also held seasonally, and all shooting courses wind through walking trails across the property's wooded terrain.

The facility welcomes both members and non-members. Members pay $60 annually for a single membership or $60 for a family membership covering two adults and children under 18, with membership benefits including unlimited practice time at the outdoor range except during scheduled shoots. Non-members can participate in shoots for $15, compared to the $10 member rate. The club maintains a strong emphasis on community involvement and youth development, supporting organizations such as Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and 4-H Shooting Sports. Primitive camping with electricity is available on the grounds. The organization conducts archery tournaments and competitions following National Field Archery Association, National Archery Association, and International Bowhunting Organization standards, while maintaining a family-oriented atmosphere focused on teaching archery skills and fostering respect for the outdoors.
