The Johnson County Archers

Located at Macbride Nature Recreation Area in Solon, the Johnson County Archers maintains outdoor 3D archery courses set within timber surroundings. Founded in 2001, the organization hosts public shooting events several times throughout the year, featuring 36-target courses that wind through the natural landscape. The facility operates shoots on select weekends, with Saturday hours running from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday hours from 7 a.m. to noon. Admission costs $10 for adults, $5 for children, and $5 for club members. Those interested in supporting the facility's ongoing maintenance can join the club and participate in the upkeep of the range and targets. It's worth noting that the range is not available during weekday summer hours due to other facility uses. Visitors note that the 3D course provides excellent practice opportunities for archers of all interests, whether they're hunters seeking real-world training or recreational shooters simply enjoying the sport.
