Located at 40 Butler Rd in North Berwick, Maine, the North Berwick Rod & Gun Club operates as a private members' club offering some of the region's premier archery facilities. The club maintains an impressive array of ranges designed to accommodate different shooting styles and conditions throughout the year.
The facility includes a 20-yard indoor range for use during winter months and inclement weather, plus multiple outdoor options when conditions allow. Outdoor shooting distances extend from 10 to 80 yards, providing flexibility for archers of varying skill levels. The club has also developed a 12-animal 3D range for hunters seeking realistic hunting practice scenarios, as well as a field range where archers shoot at paper targets on bales.
Members enjoy year-round access to the indoor range on Thursday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and Monday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 pm during winter months. Outdoor ranges are available to members at any time of the year. For those new to archery, the club offers instruction on both target shooting and safe hunting techniques. Experienced, level-one certified instructors work with beginners to teach foundational skills and safety practices.
The club actively participates in competitive archery through its membership in the Maine Archery Association, regularly hosting tournaments throughout the year. Additionally, the club schedules Maine bowhunter safety courses for members interested in hunting. This combination of recreational facilities, instructional opportunities, and competitive events makes it a comprehensive resource for archers across all experience levels.
