About

The Oakland County Sportsmen's Club operates a premier indoor archery range located in the Village of Clarkston on Waterford Road in Independence Township, Michigan. Founded in 1943, this private not-for-profit club sits on more than 200 acres of land and has been promoting conservation and sportsmanship for over 75 years.

The club's indoor archery range is open to members for recreational use at their convenience and also hosts regular events and leagues throughout the year. The facility accommodates the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) League, which meets regularly on weekends, as well as monthly archery club meetings. The range is periodically closed for special events and competitive occasions, and members can consult the club's detailed calendar to plan their visits accordingly.

Beyond the indoor range, the club maintains an outdoor archery range that hosts special events, including competitive shoots like the Night Zombie Shoot. The archery program emphasizes skill development and caters to archers of all ages, with dedicated youth instruction programs available through the club's Junior Rifle and other educational initiatives.

The Oakland County Sportsmen's Club is a comprehensive recreational facility that extends far beyond archery. The property includes indoor and outdoor rifle and pistol ranges, 25-, 50-, and 100-yard rifle ranges, action pistol ranges, shotgun ranges with trap and skeet capabilities, quarter midget racing, and the Waterford Hills road racing course. The club also features a bar and kitchen serving as a social hub for members and guests, offering burgers, salads, and seasonal appetizers.

The facility welcomes new members and conducts club tours every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. (excluding holiday weekends). The office is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
