Smith Point Archery is Long Island's premier indoor archery facility and pro shop, located in Patchogue Village. A family-owned and operated business with over 35 years of history, the facility features a 39-lane indoor shooting range—the largest on Long Island. The range accommodates shooting distances up to 20 yards, with movable backstops that allow archers to practice at varying distances based on skill level and comfort. Two separate rooms within the facility enable the range to host private parties and events without disrupting regular archers on the main range.
The pro shop is expansive, stocking over 17,000 square feet of archery products and equipment. Customers can browse a comprehensive selection of bows, crossbows, and accessories, with staff available to provide expert guidance on equipment selection. The facility also offers equipment repair and maintenance services. All bows purchased include complimentary fitting and setup, along with one month of free range time.
Smith Point Archery caters to archers of all ages and skill levels through multiple instructional programs. The facility offers private lessons with certified professionals, group lessons held every Monday evening for both children and adults, and youth group lessons specifically designed for shooters aged seven and older. The range also serves as a premier Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program site in Suffolk County, which is among the top programs in the country with numerous archers winning medals at local, state, and national competitions. Adult and youth archery leagues operate throughout the year, allowing archers to participate in competitive shooting environments.
For first-time visitors or those without personal equipment, bow rentals are available at reasonable rates. A range fee of $20 grants access to the facility, while a bow rental package for $35 includes a full day of shooting. The range is open Monday through Friday with extended hours, and operates with shorter weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday.
