Located in the countryside of Phelps, New York, Heritage Archery Academy serves archers across Western New York, the Buffalo and Syracuse areas, and the Finger Lakes region. This comprehensive facility caters to shooters of all skill levels and backgrounds, with no physical limitations preventing participation.
The academy operates three distinct ranges to accommodate different archery styles. The bright and comfortable indoor range extends to 30 yards and features easy arrow removal from field point target butts that work with various paper target preferences. The outdoor range provides an open-air shooting experience across spacious fields and wooded areas, with field point targets reaching distances of 60 yards. The facility also offers a unique 3D range featuring 24 stations spread across a 400-yard groomed walking course that replicates various animal species and challenging shooting scenarios, including shots over water, through wooded cover, and from elevated tower platforms at heights of 10 and 15 feet.
The indoor range includes a state-of-the-art instructional camera system that records 360-degree and overhead views of shooters' entire shot sequences, allowing instructors to refine mechanics and improve consistency and accuracy. The academy provides individual and small group instruction, competitive youth and adult teams, specialized programs for military veterans, summer camps, hunter education courses, and bow maintenance classes. It offers involvement in USA Archery sanctioned programs including Explore Archery and JOAD. Seasonal leagues and summer-long 3D competitions provide opportunities for tournament-style shooting with prizes and awards.
