Greensboro Traditional Archery

Greensboro Traditional Archery has been serving the community since 2010 as the area's only facility dedicated exclusively to traditional archery instruction. Founded and operated by David Malloy, the range specializes in teaching primitive bows, longbows, and recurve bows—equipment used without modern technological aids like wheels, cams, or mechanical sights. The facility welcomes archers of all ages and experience levels, viewing the discipline as both a meditative practice and a path toward personal mastery, comparable to martial arts or yoga.

The range offers one-on-one instruction with certified trainers for $45 per hour, and those without equipment can use the facility's provided bows and gear. Beginner lessons include complimentary practice time on the same day. For visitors who prefer independent practice, range time is also available for $45 per visit with full equipment access included. All sessions operate by appointment only to ensure uninterrupted instruction or practice without wait times, with flexible scheduling available morning through evening on weekdays and weekends. First-time students must provide a $15 non-refundable deposit via digital payment methods, which is applied toward their session fee when they arrive.

Beyond shooting instruction, the facility teaches equipment maintenance and setup once archers have mastered the fundamentals. The range does not service compound bows or crossbows and does not stock parts for these equipment types.
