About

Ohio Archery Range and Learning Center, located at 8051 Mayfield Road in Chesterland, operates as a specialized teaching facility dedicated exclusively to archery instruction and range shooting with no retail sales or games. The center welcomes archers of all ages from six to eighty years old and offers certified professional coaching in traditional recurve, Olympic recurve, and compound archery styles. Head coach John Siebert holds USA Archery Level 3-NTS certification and serves as an instructor trainer, providing instruction tailored to beginners discovering the sport as well as seasoned archers working to refine their technique and competitive performance.

The facility serves multiple purposes within the archery community, offering individual one-on-one coaching sessions, group instruction for organizations like Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and tune-up sessions for advanced archers preparing for hunting or competition. Beginning students need no equipment of their own, as the range provides recurve bows for training. Beyond lessons, the center maintains an open range for practice shooting when space permits, and students can call or text to check availability. The facility also hosts tournament competitions, including OAA and NFAA sanctioned mail-in events, and maintains an associated club called Nocking Point Archers. Ohio Archery Range and Learning Center provides bow tuning and service work, custom arrow building, and guidance on equipment selection as archers progress in the sport. The range operates Monday through Friday from one to eight in the evening and Saturday from nine in the morning to eight in the evening, with Sunday hours available by appointment.

$20 a week, or $175 paid in full in advance10 weeks

A handicapped 5-spot league over ten weeks, shooting at 6:30pm. The first two weeks set each archer's handicap, and a perfect 300 earns no protection from it. The lowest score is dropped when the handicap is worked out, and you never know who you are shooting against until the scores go in. Missed weeks can be made up any time during the week. First place is settled by a shoot-off for a $50 Lancaster gift card.

Shoot this one on your own schedule: any day the range is open, make up a missed week later, or put in several weeks of scores at once. Compound archers shoot a 40cm Vegas face and recurve archers a 60cm, with regular size 10s and no baby 10s. X's are for bragging rights only. Half the pot is paid out across first, second and third.

Ten weeks of a handicapped in-house league on the blue and white 5-spot, an indoor 300 round. Shoot your scores during a regular coaching session or come in at another time during opening hours, Tuesday to Saturday, at no extra charge. The first two weeks set your handicap. You do not have to shoot every week: scores can be made up any time inside the ten weeks, and several weeks can be shot in one. Eligible archers are entered automatically unless they opt out. Three cash prizes at the end of the season: $200, $75 and $50.
