AJ Archery & AJ Outdoors LLC

Located on the second floor of the Secor Building in downtown Toledo near the SeaGate Center, AJ Archery operates an indoor shooting facility that welcomes participants of all ages and skill levels. The range serves beginners taking their first steps into the sport, intermediate and advanced archers looking to refine their technique, competitive shooters preparing for tournaments, and bowhunters seeking to improve their hunting accuracy. The facility is ADA wheelchair accessible and welcomes everyone from young children through senior archers.

Coach AJ Berning-Matell, a USA Archery Level 3-NTS certified instructor with extensive credentials in safety and outdoor education, oversees instruction at the range. She offers private and group lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced students, along with USA Archery Level 1 and Level 2 instructor certification courses for those interested in becoming coaches themselves. The facility also hosts popular special events including date nights for couples, group sessions for celebrations and special occasions, and instructor training opportunities.

A particular strength of AJ Archery is its adaptive archery program, which serves archers with physical disabilities, neurological conditions, and other challenges. Coach AJ has trained extensively in adaptive techniques and equipment, including participating in an international adaptive archery seminar in Mexico and serving as head archery coach for the Buckeye Wheelchair Games.
