About
Archery Traditions of Oklahoma is a family-owned and operated indoor archery facility located at 328 Elm Ave in downtown Yukon, Oklahoma, just one block south of Main Street (Route 66). The business is dedicated to promoting archery and providing opportunities for people of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds to participate in and enjoy the sport.
The facility spans over 10,000 square feet and features spacious shooting lanes wider than typical ranges at three feet wide. The standard indoor range includes 20 shooting lanes with a maximum distance of 20 yards, and individual targets can be moved to accommodate archers of different skill levels. The range welcomes all bow types, including traditional bows, compound bows, and crossbows. In addition to the standard lanes, Archery Traditions features a unique indoor 3D range with 24 targets representing various wildlife, ranging in size from bobcat to mule deer. The 3D targets are designed to be easily rearranged, allowing the facility to create new and exciting courses regularly. The range can be converted to accommodate up to 28 standard lanes by removing the 3D range, making it suitable for tournaments and large group events.
Beyond range shooting, Archery Traditions operates a comprehensive pro shop stocked with traditional bows from brands including Bear, Damon Howatt, Martin, PSE, Samick, and Tomahawk, as well as youth recurve and longbows. The shop carries a full inventory of archery accessories at various price points and skill levels, including arrows, broadheads, and components for custom arrow building. The facility's experienced bow technicians offer tuning and adjustment services, spine testing kits, and special orders. The pro shop also features custom items from local craftsmen and offers consignment options for customers looking to buy or sell used equipment.
The facility offers extensive instructional programs for ages 6 and up. These include Introduction to Archery, a one-hour beginner session; Archery 101, a three-week course covering fundamentals; and Archery 201, a six-week advanced course. Individual instruction and group instruction are also available. Additionally, Archery Traditions hosts a JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program for students ages 8 through 20, which operates Thursday evenings at 6:30pm and provides development opportunities from beginner to advanced levels with achievement pins and competitive opportunities at local to national levels.
The business organizes leagues for archers of all experience levels and bow types, including a Target League and a 3D League, both designed to be family-friendly and fun. Birthday parties are accommodated with dedicated coaching staff, and the facility is available for group reservations ranging from small groups to full facility rentals. This makes it suitable for church groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, FFA, 4H, day camps, and other organizations. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to book a birthday party.
Rental equipment is available for shooters of all ages and experience levels, with appropriate draw weights for children and adults. Range fees are charged per session rather than per hour, allowing shooters to use the facility until they are finished. The facility is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 6pm, Friday from 11am to 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm, and is closed Mondays. First responders and military members receive 15% off range fees and discounts on other services.
Archery Traditions of Oklahoma prides itself on awesome customer service and creating a family-friendly environment that does not intimidate guests of any skill level. The business recognizes that archers have different objectives—whether trying archery for the first time, practicing for tournaments, sighting in hunting bows, or simply enjoying time with family and friends—and works to support all visitors in having the best possible experience.
