Indoor Archery Range

Located at Johnston Road on Fort Belvoir, this archery facility serves active duty military, Department of Defense civilians, retirees, and their family members. The center maintains multiple ranges to accommodate different skill levels and preferences. Archers can practice on an 18-point indoor range set at 20 yards, a 10-point indoor range covering 10 to 30 yards, a 14-point outdoor field archery course following NFAA standards, an eight-point outdoor lighted range with targets positioned at distances from 10 to 60 yards, and a four-point outdoor broadhead practice range with 20 and 30-yard lines.

The facility offers introductory instruction for those new to the sport. Classes focusing on archery fundamentals take place on the first and third Monday of each month, covering safety and basic shooting principles taught by experienced volunteers. These beginner-friendly sessions welcome participants age six and older, with younger participants requiring adult supervision.

Equipment rental is available for those who don't have their own gear, with both compound and recurve bow rentals provided alongside arrows. Daily passes provide access to the ranges, and annual membership options are offered for regular visitors. The center also accommodates those who prefer to bring their own equipment, though crossbows are not permitted at the facility.
