About

Manahoac Bowmen is an established archery club located in Spotsylvania Courthouse on the grounds of the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Izaak Walton League. Founded in 1953, the club maintains multiple outdoor ranges to serve both members and visiting archers, including a 28-target field range, a 30-target 3-D range, a 6-target practice range, and dedicated crossbow and broadhead ranges. The facility hosts regular competitive events throughout the year, with many shoots open to the public, and provides beginner and intermediate archery instruction led by USA Archery certified instructors. Training sessions cover safety, shooting fundamentals, and archery etiquette, with all equipment supplied and sessions available for various age levels. Membership is open to the public and runs on a calendar-year basis, with interested archers welcome to attend monthly club meetings to learn more and complete an application. Visitors consistently praise the welcoming community and knowledgeable members, noting that the club attracts dedicated archers of all skill levels who are eager to help newcomers get started in the sport.
