About

Skookum Archers is one of the largest and oldest archery clubs in Washington state, established in 1951 and located at 11209 Shaw Road East in Puyallup. The facility spans 39 acres of forested land in the South Hill area and features a 56-target walk-through course alongside a flat range with shooting distances from 20 to 101 yards. The range also accommodates FITA shooting from 18 to 90 meters, and includes sandpits for practicing with broadheads and crossbows.

The public is welcome to use the range daily from sunrise to sunset. Non-members pay $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 12-17, while children 11 and under shoot free when accompanied by a paying adult. Frequent visitors can purchase an annual range pass for $125. Payment is accepted through the on-site pro shop, Great Northwest Archery, via mobile app, cash, or check.

For those without their own equipment, Skookum Archers offers an Introduction to Archery program on Thursday evenings that includes instruction and equipment rental for $10 per person. The program is designed for ages 6 and up and offers two class sessions at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. The club also runs a Summer Field Archery Camp for ages 8-17 during August, as well as the Skookum Rangers program for junior members ages 8-18 who practice on Wednesday evenings. The facility is actively working on making sections of the flat range fully wheelchair accessible.
