About

Lakeshore Bowhunters Archery Club operates on 23 acres of wooded property adjacent to the Eldorado Marsh, offering multiple shooting opportunities for archers of all levels. The facility features a year-round practice range dedicated to long-time member Rocky Gross, which includes five large bag targets positioned at distances ranging from 10 to 50 yards, with removable fencing that allows shooters to practice at greater distances. The main attraction is an extensive 3D course winding through hardwoods and marsh terrain with 23 elevated stands and shooting lanes along a mulched trail. A secondary trail-style course provides closer shots and variety for league competitions. Both courses are regularly maintained and sprayed for insects during use. The club maintains a heated and cooled clubhouse featuring a bar where members can enjoy cold beverages and food after shooting. Founded in 1971, Lakeshore Bowhunters has remained committed to promoting archery in a family-friendly environment. The club hosts numerous public events throughout the year, including spring shoots and memorial tournaments, along with a 12-week 3D league beginning each May. Membership provides 24-hour access to grounds and facilities, admission to all club shoots, and the opportunity to participate in league competitions. Visitors note the courses are well-maintained and speak highly of the club's welcoming community, though some mention that boots are recommended for spring events due to flooding in certain areas.
