About

Located in Kincaid Park along Little Campbell Lake Road in Anchorage, this outdoor archery facility has been operated by the Northwest Archers Association, a nonprofit organization, since 1984. The range is open to the public and features a 10-yard to 80-yard practice area where anyone can shoot at no charge. Members gain access to additional facilities by obtaining a gate code, including three 14-target field courses and one 26-target bag range, each providing distinct shooting experiences suitable for traditional and compound archery as well as bowhunting preparation. The Northwest Archers Association, which maintains the only NFAA-sanctioned field range in Alaska, offers free community archery lessons twice yearly through the municipality in spring and fall sessions lasting eight to ten weeks, with classes averaging around 30 participants. The organization staffs NASP and USA Archery certified instructors and welcomes archers of all skill levels. Crossbows and broadheads are not permitted on the grounds. Visitors note that the range is easily accessible with a short walk from the parking area, making it a convenient option for both casual shooters and those seeking competitive experiences through the organization's sponsored tournaments and events.
