Kings Mountain Archers operates a premier outdoor field archery range located within Huddart County Park in the eastern slopes of San Mateo County, California. The facility is an NFAA-certified four-star field range featuring a 28-target course arranged in two loops, with distances ranging from 10 yards to 80 yards to accommodate field, hunter, youth, and cub shooting categories. The terrain is hilly and naturally scenic, with canyon walls and slopes providing safe natural backstops and footbridges spanning a central stream. Each target position includes spacious bow racks, and trails are well-marked and maintained according to NFAA safety guidelines.
Beyond the main field course, the range includes a dedicated practice area with 11 targets at fixed distances from 10 to 60 yards, featuring a kids' corner designed for younger beginners. The facility also maintains a training area supervised by certified instructors, which hosts monthly public introductory lessons as well as scout and camp instruction. Additional amenities include picnic areas with tables and BBQ grills, member restrooms, a clubhouse, and parking—with gated parking for members and guests, and roadside parking available for public visitors.
Kings Mountain Archers is a membership-based club founded in 1956, offering access to club competitions, tournaments, discounts at participating pro shops, and a monthly newsletter. The range welcomes both bowhunters and target shooters and operates as a non-profit organization affiliated with the NFAA at the national level.
