About

Located at the base of Mary Jane Ski Area in Winter Park, this nonprofit organization operates a public 3D archery course that winds up the mountainside through the Arapaho National Forest. The range features 28 three-dimensional animal targets positioned at varying angles and distances, starting at an elevation of 9,800 feet, and includes a separate sight-in area with targets set at distances ranging from 20 to 60 yards. The challenging uphill hiking course accommodates archers of all skill levels and ages, offering unique shooting opportunities that test accuracy and technique in a mountain environment.

The organization, established in 1984, provides free public access to the range from sunrise to sunset during the operating season from June through October, weather permitting. Youth archery instruction is available through partnerships with the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District, which coordinates summer programs and weekly clinics for local youth and visiting groups. The range operates under IBO target scoring standards and has recently added features including bow racks at target stations, designated shooting location markers, and a dedicated broadhead practice pit. Membership options range from junior to family rates, with proceeds supporting range maintenance and improvements. The facility also offers branded merchandise through an online store, with all profits directed toward range upkeep and equipment upgrades. Four organized competitive shoots take place annually during the summer and fall months, attracting archers from across the region.
