Downwind Archery

Downwind Archery is a family-owned and operated pro shop in Idaho Falls that has been serving the archery community since 1996. The facility features both indoor and outdoor ranges. The indoor ranges consist of two temperature-controlled spaces with 22 shooting lanes—one set at 20 yards and a newer 30-yard range, both equipped with compressed foam targets. The outdoor range accommodates distances from 20 to 60 yards with block and bag targets available. Daily range use costs $15, which includes one target face, with additional targets available for $1 each. Monthly passes and 24-hour passes are also offered for those seeking regular access. As Idaho's only tech-certified pro shop in Southeast Idaho, Downwind Archery stocks bows from top manufacturers, a wide variety of arrows, and comprehensive accessories for archers of all levels. The shop provides professional bow setup and tuning services, custom arrow building and repair, and string services with custom color options available.

Beyond equipment, the facility offers extensive instructional programs including private lessons, group classes, and large group sessions designed for scout troops, youth groups, and church organizations. The shop also hosts the largest Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program in the state, with over 40 competitive youth participants ranging from age 8 to 17. Additional youth offerings include the Explore Archery program, a six-week introductory course for children starting at age 8. The facility hosts special events for birthdays, private parties, and corporate team-building activities. Visitors praise the welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff, noting that the long-established business treats customers like family regardless of experience level.
