About

South Fork Archers operates a 25-acre outdoor archery facility located at 2150 York Road in Idaho Falls, adjacent to the Sandy Downs rodeo arena. Founded in the early 1970s through the merger of two local bowhunting clubs, the range serves as a hub for field archery and bowhunting enthusiasts throughout southeast Idaho. The facility features two distinct areas: a practice range on the left side with seven target stations at distances from 20 to 80 yards, complete with picnic tables, bow hangers, and restroom facilities; and a 3D course on the right side that extends into the sand dunes and is utilized for club shoots and summer league competitions.

South Fork Archers is a membership-based club with annual dues of $50 for individual memberships and $90 for family memberships. Members gain access to the range, discounted pricing at 3D shoots, and eligibility to participate in big game awards and club voting. The club hosts multiple events throughout the year, including summer leagues held Wednesday nights from May through July, multi-day 3D shoots such as the Bulls Fork Shoot and Chilli Shoot, and an annual banquet recognizing bowhunters and volunteers. Summer league participation costs $10 per night, with scores tracked throughout the season to determine final shoot-off qualifications. The facility strictly enforces safety rules, prohibiting broadheads in club targets, alcohol, and any projectiles other than arrows or crossbow bolts. Those interested in visiting the range for a single occasion without membership can purchase a day pass at a local pro shop.
