About

Grand Valley Sporting Goods operates a full-service archery facility located at 6387 Lake Michigan Drive in Allendale, Michigan. As West Michigan's premier archery destination for over 20 years, the business combines a professional pro shop with comprehensive range facilities and instruction programs designed to serve archers of all skill levels.

The centerpiece of the facility is its indoor archery range, which features 22 lanes extending up to 20 yards each, providing substantial capacity for individual practice and group sessions. Shooters access the range from an elevated platform, and range time is available with no time limit for a $10 entry fee. For beginners without equipment, Grand Valley Sporting Goods offers rental bows paired with first-time instruction for $15, allowing newcomers to learn the fundamentals and practice at their own pace.

Beyond the traditional range, the facility houses a TechnoHunt simulator, which visitors say is the world's most advanced hunting simulator. This system allows archers to use their own bows to shoot from 740 different hunting scenarios and games, with targets displayed at 20 yards that simulate animals at various distances. Up to six shooters can participate in each session, and the facility offers both individual bookings and organized 10-week competitive leagues starting in January.

The range supports an active community archery program through multiple league offerings. The facility runs 12-week 3D archery leagues during winter months from January through March, with separate divisions for compound and traditional bow shooters, as well as dedicated youth leagues. Youth archery participants can shoot on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings at designated times. All leagues provide opportunities for archers to improve their skills while building community connections with fellow enthusiasts.

The pro shop provides comprehensive technical services including bow setup, tuning, maintenance, and repair, as well as arrow building and accessory installation. The team consists of multiple certified bow technicians and archery instructors who also handle manufacturer warranty repairs for major archery brands carried in the shop. New archer instruction and bow fitting are core services, with specially selected youth-friendly bows available that adjust as young archers grow.

The facility operates extended hours throughout the week, opening at 9 a.m. on most weekdays and remaining open until 6 to 8 p.m. depending on the day, with Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This schedule accommodates both recreational shooters and those participating in organized leagues and programs.
