Plattsburgh Rod and Gun Club

This community-focused archery facility welcomes both novice and experienced archers year-round through its dual indoor and outdoor shooting programs. The club operates on a seasonal schedule, offering heated indoor shooting during winter months and the option to use either indoor or outdoor ranges during summer. Archery sessions take place on Sunday afternoons from 2:30 to 4:30 PM throughout the year.

One of the standout features is the club's commitment to accessibility for beginners, providing free instruction to all who visit. Bows and arrows are available to loan at no charge, removing barriers for those new to the sport. The facility has invested in developing a 3D archery course with multiple targets, made possible through a grant from the Friends of NRA, offering a more dynamic shooting experience beyond traditional flat-range setups. All targets are provided complimentary to participants.

Membership options keep the facility affordable, with members paying just ten dollars per session, students and juniors paying five dollars, and non-members charged twenty dollars. The club also hosts youth programming through partnerships with Clinton County 4-H, welcoming younger archers into the sport. Beyond archery, the club grounds offer additional recreational opportunities including access to nearby Woodriff Pond for boating and fishing, available free to members, along with clubhouse amenities such as a kitchen, meeting space, and wood-burning stove.
