Briones Archery Range

Briones Archery Range operates as a volunteer-run club nestled within Briones Regional Park in the East Bay hills, offering one of Northern California's premier outdoor archery experiences. The facility features three separate fourteen-target field courses that wind through scenic trails, totaling forty-two permanent targets spread across thirty acres of natural terrain. Archers can practice at distances ranging from ten to sixty yards on the dedicated practice range, or challenge themselves on the roving courses that traverse both open hillsides and shaded creek beds with unmarked distances designed to sharpen range estimation skills.

The club welcomes archers of all skill levels and backgrounds, hosting regular Monday evening shoots featuring rotating three-dimensional animal targets set in hunting-style conditions. Throughout the year, the range also organizes signature events like the Bear Creek Shoot in June, which showcases thirty-two unmarked targets, and the You Can't Miss Shoot for traditional and recurve archers in November. Visitors note that while the range requires a short to moderate hike from the parking area, the scenic beauty and challenging course layout make the effort worthwhile. The setting is family-friendly, and guests appreciate the opportunity to practice in natural surroundings where wildlife sightings such as deer, turkeys, and coyotes are common.

Membership provides year-round access and gate privileges, though the range also remains open to the public during scheduled events and shoots.
