About

Redwood Bowmen operates a 35-acre archery range nestled in the Oakland Hills, located at 10900 Skyline Blvd near the Chabot Space and Science Center. As a facility of the East Bay Regional Parks, the range sits within the Roberts Regional Recreational Area and offers a roaming field archery experience set amid the natural forest landscape. The club maintains three National Field Archery Association–approved 14-target courses—the Upper Course, Lower Course, and The Hill—for a total of 42 targets, plus a dedicated practice area that accommodates shooting distances from 10 to 80 yards. Each course is configured to support multiple archery formats, including Field, Hunter, and Animal rounds, along with World Archery Field configurations.

The range is open to the public from dawn to dusk every day, excluding event days, with a suggested $5 donation for day use. Beginner classes are available for those new to the sport, though the facility does not offer equipment rentals. Visitors must bring their own bows and arrows—only archery equipment is permitted, with broadheads strictly prohibited. The club has maintained this range since 1939 through the dedication of volunteers, membership dues, and public donations. Those interested in deeper involvement can pursue membership, which requires attending a work party, club shoot, and club meeting before a vote by existing members. Annual membership dues are $110 for individuals or $125 for families.
