About

Pasadena Roving Archers operates the oldest continuously operated field archery range in the world, established in 1934-35 and located in the scenic Lower Arroyo Park at 415 S Arroyo Boulevard. The range sits on City of Pasadena parkland and features a multi-target field archery course across various terrains, similar to a golf course layout with 28 targets. Open daily from sunrise to sunset, the range is accessible to the public with proper credentials and equipment, though Saturdays and Sundays from sunrise until 2:30 PM are reserved for the organization's instruction programs and tournaments.

As a nonprofit organization, Pasadena Roving Archers offers comprehensive instruction for archers of all ages and experience levels. The club provides First-Time Archers classes on Saturday mornings that include all necessary equipment at no charge, along with Returning Archers classes for those building on their skills. For younger archers, the organization offers Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) programs designed for competitive youth. The club also provides city-required safety certification courses and specialized advanced classes for members focusing on specific bow types and competitive training.

Membership is available and provides benefits including free access to returning archer classes, free participation in weekly tournaments, and access to advanced training programs. The organization operates Sunday Shoots featuring various competition formats including Field Rounds, 3D Rounds, Animal Rounds, and Olympic-style distance competitions. Volunteers form the backbone of the operation, and the club actively encourages community involvement with numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
