About

Boise WMA Archery Range operates a scenic outdoor facility in the Boise Foothills on land managed by Idaho Fish and Game. The walk-through course spans approximately one mile and features 20 three-dimensional foam targets positioned throughout a hilly terrain, allowing archers to practice shooting at varying distances while stalking lifelike animal replicas that represent Idaho game species. The range welcomes both traditional and compound bow shooters of all skill levels, though crossbows are not permitted. A practice area near the course entrance allows archers to warm up before tackling the full walk-through, and this practice section includes a dedicated shooting lane where visitors may use broadhead arrows with their own targets—a feature the facility developed in response to local demand. The range operates seasonally from May 1 through November 15, sunrise to sunset, weather permitting, with no admission fee. The facility operates on a pack-in, pack-out basis with no restrooms or trash service available. Visitors should come prepared for hiking, as the terrain is notably hilly and sturdy footwear is recommended. Those who have experienced the course praise its professional setup, varied shooting scenarios that provide good preparation for hunting season, and stunning mountain backdrop.
